Scam emails

Watch out for emails "phishing" for your sensitive information. I've received several in my inbox in the past month.  Do not click on any links if you don't know who it is from!   Remember if it looks too good to be true..it probably is!

Also watch for emails asking for sensitive information, it may look very official. Contact the company using a phone number you have on file...NOT the one on the email itself.

Use your "report spam" button, don't reply back asking to be taken off the list. This will let the people know that the email account is "active".

Changing Passwords! Do It Now.

If it has been a long while since you changed your password, now is a good time. There are many computer users discovering their accounts being compromised and emails being sent to contacts on their email lists. Many times, unsuspecting users click on a link in the email and end up with a virus themselves.

Another thing to keep in mind is to change your security question and make it something most people would not know.  Check the alternate email account that you gave and ensure it is a valid one. Sometimes the virus attack will make changes and redirect it to their own email account!

Phishing Email..Received in Gmail Acct

Please be very careful clicking on links received in emails!  I just received one supposedly from Google mail stating that I need to click on a link to "update" my dormant account.   Do not click on links or respond to these emails. Mark them as SPAM or DELETE them.

Someone is trying to gain access to your personal information...do not give them the satisfaction.
